The Wilhelm is designed to be the absolute best-fitting chino for men with larger thighs. If you're into weightlifting, cycling, sprinting, crossfit, or bodybuilding, then this will give you a fit that's functional, comfortable, and flattering.
Cramerton Army Cloth is one of our all-time favorite chino fabrics. First manufactured in 1929 for the US Army by Cramerton Mills in North Carolina, this hard-wearing cloth became the standard uniform fabric for the American forces fighting abroad in WWII. When the GIs returned home and enrolled in universities across the country, they brought their uniform trousers with them—this time pairing them with oxford shirts and blue blazers, rather than army jackets, and a new civilian uniform was born.
The fabric is 100% cotton and a year-round 9oz weight. It softens and fades beautifully with age. In the world of chino twills, we've found this to have more character than any other fabric. Mushroom is similar to khaki, but with a more refined, darker sand color tone. It's just as easy to match and wear as a khaki pant, but offers a distinct look from the norm.
Here's what sets it apart from the pack:
1) A generous thigh measurement allows for a comfortable fit with ample room for larger legs
2) A medium-high rise, particularly in the back, allows it to sit properly on your hips and to stay up comfortably, even when you're bending down.
3) Each leg tapers down to a smaller cuff at the bottom. This taper is most pronounced after the fullest part of the calf. This cuts a flattering profile and ensures that your pant hem doesn't cover your shoes.
4) Its "Hollywood" style waistband is made by folding the trouser fabric over at the waist, giving it a soft and comfortable fit. The fly is closed with genuine corozo nut buttons.
5) A heavy gauge chainstitch is used on both the rear and side seams to ensure long-term durability at key stress points.
The Wilhelm Chino is true to size. The inseam will shrink approximately 0.5" after washing, so please launder your garment before hemming.
All measurements below are taken with the pants laid flat. Waist is measured across the top of the waistband while the front portion is laid over the back. Rise is measured from the intersection point of the crotch seams to the top of the front waistband. Inseam is measured from the same point at the crotch to the leg opening. Thigh is measured from the lowest point of the crotch across the leg. Leg Opening is measured across the bottom cuff.
