Rivet Chino Sashiko Jet Black

Epaulet

Made in Los Angeles

This is is the best casual pant that we've ever made. Crafted in our popular Japanese cotton Sashiko, this piece is garment dyed for a dark jet black tone and softened to be exceptionally comfortable on the first wear. Its 12oz weight is wearable year round, and it's cut in the famous slim-athletic fit that we've used for over a decade. Dressed up or down, this beautifully textured piece offers the ease of a sweatpant with the refinement of a casual trouser. There's nothing else out there quite like it!

Our classic pure cotton Sashiko cloth is woven in Japan for use in martial arts uniforms. Known as Dogi (cloth of the way), this fabric has a thick pique weave with well-defined "rice gain" structure. It allows natural stretch and flexing with movement, it absorbs moisture and stays away from your skin and it gains exceptional tensile strength.. far above a comparable twill weave. Given the large texture of the weave, you can expect a nice patina with wear.

Each Sashiko Rivet Chino begins its journey as a stiff, neutral white garment. It's plunged into an organic reactive dye bath for about 48 hours.. allowing the pigment to entirely soak through its distinctive "rice grain" texture. The soft drape and comfort of this final product cannot be overstated!

The Rivet Chino

The Rivet Chino is our signature casual trouser. We are confident that it will be among the finest pants that you've ever worn. It has the slim, tapered profile and medium-low rise of a jean, but the traditional pockets of a pant. The shape has two front hand pockets, two rear pockets, and a hidden coin pocket at the front waistband.

One of its most distinctive features is the herringbone taping running down the interior of the outseam. This handsome detail can be revealed when the chinos are cuffed.

The interior construction reflects a meticulous attention to detail. The unlined waistband is pitched for a close, comfortable fit. A chain-stitched rear lap-seam ensures the hard-wearing seam durability of a jean while maintaining the subtle seaming of a trouser. A heavy-gauge brass zipper and long-wearing cotton pocket bags finish it off.
