Sport Trainer Ghost Horsehide

Made in Portugal

There's nothing better than a crisp white pair of sneakers, and these are simply some of the very best in the world. Working with the classic "German Army Trainer" shape, we use gorgeous off-white horsehide for the upper, the toughest German rubber sole in the business, an unbelievably comfortable and supportive insole, and the cleanest all-around construction and stitching available anywhere. This trainer looks great, fits brilliantly, and provides countless miles of faithful service.

Ghost horsehide is a very light grey that's only a few shades off of white. It gives the versatility of a minimal white trainer, but with a more unique color tone. Tanned in Portugal, its official name is "Couro Cavalo," and the skin has a high natural oil content and a signature small visible grain. The effect is slightly distressed and the hand is radically supple. This gorgeous leather will age beautifully with wear and achieve a unique patina over time.

The Tennis Trainer

The Epaulet Sport Trainer is our modern day re-interpretation of the athletic shoes issued to the West German army in the 1970s. We've retained the clean lines, slim shape, and minimal design of the original - but we've upgraded all of the materials to offer a truly high-end product. A German-made single-unit rubber sole provides great traction and a cushioned ride. A kidskin glove leather full liner extends throughout the interior, and a comfortable, removable insole cushions every step. Both whole and half sizes are available for a precise fit.

Epaulet Sport Trainers run true to size, and their design allows them to comfortably fit BOTH a medium and a wide foot. If you typically wear a 10D or 10E in dress shoes, then we recommend ordering a US10 in these. For a comparison to our dress shoes, this size would correspond to a 10D or 10E in the Alden Aberdeen last, a 9.5D or 9.5E in the Alden Barrie or Tru-Balance last, and a 9UK in most Carmina lasts. Many of our customers also tend to wear the same size in these as they would in a Converse Jack Purcell or Vans Authentic - which can be a useful comparison for getting fitted locally.

For European customers looking at the EU size, we also recommend purchasing your typical size.
